You're back from your break looking healthy and radiant, but your skin's dry from the sun and your hair is starting to resemble a bird's nest! It's time for a little post-holiday beauty repair to ensure you hold on to that holiday glow for longer.

Here's what to do in five easy steps.

  • EXFOLIATE: A good all-over body exfoliation will leave your skin looking smooth and glowing, sloughing off all those dead cells and getting rid of flakiness, it'll also ensure your tan (if you have one) won't fade unevenly.
  • MOISTURISE: The key to banishing dehydrated skin and extending the lifespan of a tan is to moisturise properly. Don't scrimp on this - slather your skin all over every day with plenty of moisturiser to keep colour even and to help prevent peeling. Apply after showering, while your skin is still damp, to lock in maximum moisture.
  • TAN EXTENDERS: These are a cheat's way to prolong a tan and are essentially after-suns with a hint of DHA in them (the active ingredient in fake tanning products).
  • FAKE IT: The safest tan is of course out of a bottle and clever skincare and make-up can go a long way to cheating a golden glow - it can also enhance your tan. Try a day or night-cream with a hint of DHA in it. You can also top this up with a light dusting of bronzer. For a natural look, apply it only where you would catch the sun - across your cheekbones, forehead, nose and collarbone.
  • HOLIDAY HAIR HELP: Your hair will also need aftercare so treat it to a specific deepconditioning treatment. Extracts of aloe vera and almond oil help in getting your hair back into great condition.
