Water and dizziness

Been feeling tired and dizzy lately? It could be because you are not drinking enough water

By Dr Miriam Stoppard

I’ve been feeling really tired lately. I’ve had a check-up by my doctor and he found nothing wrong. Then I had a fainting episode and my daughter asked me how much water I’ve been drinking. She put my dizzy spell down to dehydration. Is she right?

Dr Miriam says:
I think your daughter is probably correct. Dehydration can creep up on us and is a very common reason for tiredness as we get older. This is partly because our thirst reflex is blunted as we age and so we’re not prompted to drink water as often as we were when we were younger.

Make sure that you never leave the house without taking a bottle of water with you and try to keep drinking liquids throughout the day.
