Effects

Sagging or displacement of the stomach from its normal position worsening the digestion.

Precautions

Stomach’s Veto

The air expelled from the stomach carrying the smell of food. This Veto may be missed once or twice, especially when you eat rapidly, but when it does come, we can form an idea of the quantity, which we can take safely and bear it in mind as it is an indication that we should not eat more.

Singular meals

If we restrict ourselves to one course of food in each meal (rotis and vegetables), the quantity of food will automatically get adjusted. We should not go in for another course(rice and vegetables)after that as the senses and appetite are revived once again causing us to overeat.

Quality of food

A pound of rice or wheat may constitute overeating, but two pounds of vegetables and fruits may not. This is because the former is concentrated food, the latter is four-fifths water.

Discomfort

May rise immediately after the meal. This will need an adjustment of the bulk, quality and combination of foods.

Number of meals

Due to eating many meals during the day,our digestive system does not get any rest .Before the stomach can finish with one meal, it has to get ready to digest the second.

Snacks between meals

Should be avoided as they prove to be a hindrance to digestion. The stomach needs sufficient time to digest the regular meals. So anything taken in between will add to the already existing burden.

Work after food

Any kind of work interferes with digestion to some extent.

Stimulants like coffee, tea, alcohol

With their consumption, our vital energy flows along the nerves uncontrolled and we get a feeling of increased energy. But the ultimate effect is a depletion of our vitality.
