Spa Review: Loreal Nourishing Crème Bath

After a stressful working week, a hair spa provides just the relief you need

By Deepa Prabhu

After a stressful working week, a hair spa provides just the relief you need and I was very happy when I was asked to review one on Saturday at Magicc Mirror The Salon in Ghatkopar.

I was greeted by the salon owner, Meerra Mevawalla who is a trained professional from Vidal Sassoon, Loreal Institute (Mumbai) & Award Studio (USA).  While I waited I noticed that the salon was designed into different zones for different services which included nail art, hair spas, cuts and styles, manicure-pedicare etc. Meerra gave me a brief introduction about the salon and the services offered. While she vouches for all the services, what’s really close to her heart is make-up and styling. Meerra took me on a tour to her makeup studio where she specializes in bridal make-up and also trains aspirants in makeup art. She also offers make-up services for model shoots and plans to pursue that aggressively.

Having done that, I settled into my spa treatment. Raju (the stylist) got working on my hair starting with a hair wash. I was then led to the enclosure meant for hair spa. Magicc Mirror uses only Loreal products and I was given a treatment of Loreal nourishing Crème bath for dry hair. The massage and steam treatment lasted nearly 45 minutes during which time Raju gave me lessons of the treatments that would be good for me and the regime I should follow. Post the hair wash, my hair did feel softer, though I don’t know how long it will last. Finally I was given a hair trim which, ended with a fantastic blow-dry that left my hair feeling and looking like true crowning glory.

Cost of hair spa: Rs 800 onwards for a single sitting

Cost of trim: Rs 550 (with hair wash) & Rs 400 (without wash)

What's hot: The rates are pretty affordable, hair spa treatment is good

What's not: Overall ambience and décor (can be better)

Verdict: Post the hair wash, my hair did feel softer, though I don’t know how long it will last. In the end, I was given a hair trim which, ended with a fantastic blow-dry that left my hair feeling and looking like true crowning glory.
