"I firmly believe that fitness and beauty are inter-connected. Fitness of the body and of the mind both make a person look and feel beautiful inside and this is reflected on the outside too. Hence, a healthy mind, body and soul all contribute towards making a person healthy and beautiful.

Body
Fitness - Being in the field of beauty, a great responsibility rests on my shoulders to be an ambassador of good health and fitness. I have to look, walk and talk my profession and be the visual reflection of what I recommend to my clients.

My work out includes a lot of cardio to keep the heart pumping fresh blood to all the organs and flushing out the toxins. I walk for an hour 3 to 4 times a week or do 15 to 20 suryanamaskars in case I miss my walk. I religiously do yoga for half an hour everyday as it helps me stretch and tone my body along with soothing my mind.

Diet – I have recently started following a diet. I start my mornings with a glass of water, 1/2 a biscuit, and 1 cup of tea without sugar. This is followed with a green vegetable juice made of spinach, coriander, mint, white gourd and wheat-grass. I also have an omelette made of 3 egg whites, a toast and 1 cup coffee with skimmed milk.

My lunch mostly consists of coconut water, two rotis and two sabzis with less oil. In the evening I have boiled moong or chana and my dinners comprise of roti or rice, a bowl of dal and some vegetables. At 11pm I have 2 fruits.

Eating at regular intervals helps to maintain the BMR (the ability of the body to burn calories and not convert them to fat-high). I also drink 2 to 3 litres of water every day.

Mind
Since cosmetology is always evolving and finding new horizons, I keep abreast of the latest in my field. Work keeps me mentally fit as I am a working woman and it is my passion. I always endeavour to conquer and accomplish new goals and improve and update my skills. This keeps me mentally healthy and alert.

Attending national and international workshops and conferences and exchanging ideas on new developments and approaches to cosmetology is another high for me. Being at the forefront of technology and advancements in my field, keeps my mind fit and active.

Hobbies also help one relax and I like to read fiction, autobiographies, history and listen to music. Spending time with my sweet cocker spaniel Cuddles, grandson Aryan, my family, friends and all my clients is extremely important. A good massage also relaxes me.

Spirit
I listen to chants and pray at bedtime. Along with that I visit certain places of worship every year and believe in God and the beauty and love He has created. However spirituality for me is doing my work sincerely and honestly and succeeding in helping my patients to achieve their goals. I believe that sharing and caring is also a form of spirituality. It is the simple things in life that contribute to wellbeing and happiness."
