Body

Fitness- “Being fit is my way of feeling, thinking and believing positive about myself. I have been exercising and eating healthy ever since I was in college. Ever since I have started acting, I have become even more health conscious. Initially I used to hate entering the gym but now I hate the days I don’t work out.

I have recently shed a lot of weight. I was 84kgs about 9 months ago and now I am 70kgs and this result is a combination of a strict fitness regime along with a diet.

Energy and stamina come with regular workouts and cardio vascular endurance training. One must pursue regular fitness exercises to have a high endurance level so that one can take extreme physical pressures in unforeseen circumstances.

I exercise at least 4 to 5 days a week and each work out session lasts an hour. I concentrate mostly on weight training and I do a cardio session which includes running, cycling or playing squash every third day. I change my regime regularly so that boredom does not set in.

Diet- I try and stick to the diet my dietician prescribes. I have to admit, that eating right is very important and has contributed in my weight loss. I believe that you are what you eat. I eat five to six meals a day. Breakfast is cereal with skimmed milk and four egg whites. This is followed by a glass of vegetable juice and banana. My lunch is usually rotis, salad, chicken and sabzi or khichdi. For an evening snack I have an egg white and whey protein and my dinner consists of soup, salad and chicken or fish.

I usually try to avoid eating out but if I do then I order for grilled food. I restrict my sweet consumption to once in ten days.

Mind
My pets help me to unwind. I love animals and have four labradors at home, a pomeranian and a cat in my production office; a cocker spaniel in my Dad's bungalow and 8 dogs in the farmhouse! I love spending time and playing with them.

Watching movies and listening to music helps me de-stress as well. I believe that coping with stress is a state of mind. If you allow stress to trouble you; it will, if you block it; it won’t.

Spirit

I believe in God and pray to him everyday.  I visit dargahs, churches and temples along with being a strong believer in Sai Baba and Vaishnodevi. Hence, I visit Shirdi and  Vaishnodevi at least once in 18 months.

I am fairly spiritually inclined, and believe in meditation and similar spiritual exercises even though I rarely find the time to pursue them. Spirituality, if used effectively, can be a life-altering path and can help us deal with today’s world with our full potential.

My motto is to live for today. Life is what you make of it; so do your best. Believe in God and in yourself and everything else will follow. You are what you want to be so think positive always!”
