Body

Fitness- “To improve my strength, stamina and flexibility, I practice ashtanga yoga three to four times a week along with Pilates. I do make it a point to swim as much as possible, as not only is it enjoyable but also extremely relaxing, especially during the summers. Whenever possible I avoid the lift and try using the stairs to keep myself fit and active.

Diet- I eat 5-6 small meals a day, and since I 'm a vegetarian, I try to focus on how I can incorporate more proteins in my diet. My breakfast consists of fruits followed by muesli and a glass of milk. After a while I have a protein bar followed by eggs and toast. Before my lunch I have a few peanuts or a slice of cheese and my lunch is usually paneer paratha or roti with sabzi and Soya kheema.

In the evening I have a glass of coconut water. My dinner is light and since I have lived in Dubai for a long time it is usually hummus with carrots

I tend to avoid deep fried food. If I have a craving for something sweet, I fulfil my craving immediately after my workout.

Mind

Like the body, it is important to look after our mental health as well. Hence, to keep my self mentally fit and relaxed, I read philosophical books and meditate everyday. I also try to surround myself with positive people.

Cooking and shopping act as great stress busters while watching a movie at home with family and friends, followed by a home cooked meal is extremely relaxing. I find travelling very refreshing as visiting new places gives me a new found energy.

Spirituality

Nothing lasts forever and the best way to maintain your peace is to realize that everything happens for the best. Prayer is the key to remaining peaceful and positive. It’s very important that we realize even though we exist in the material world we are all on the path of evolution and we need to be more aware of our higher selves and our actual mission on earth. Hence, I light a diya and pray every morning and night.

I believe that the most important thing in life is the purity of intent because as Mahatma Gandhi said "Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony". So for me being fit means my physical strength is equal to my mental, spiritual and emotional well being.”
