Fitness

“For my physical fitness I work out every alternate day in the gym. On the other days, I do cardio which includes walking or cross training. My daily regime includes a workout thrice a week in the gym. My personal trainer Stefi, insists on varying my workouts. Sometimes it is only weights, sometimes it is circuit training. On some days, she makes me do turbulence training, which means body weight exercises back to back without any rest in between the sets. Also, before very workout it is important that one does cardio for at least 15mins. My workouts are followed by stretching. On the days I do not go to the gym, I go for walks. I also go for dance training to the Terence Lewis academy. Another important point in physical fitness is ‘rest’. It is very important that I am well rested. Good sleep is the key for a successful workout. After working out all your muscles and your body, it is equally important to rest them too.

Diet

My diet includes a proper breakfast... wherein I eat poha, upma, egg burji, aloo paratha. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. They say you should eat like a king and I try to do this. Lunch is mostly a roti with vegetable bhaji and dal. I snack at around 4 pm which could be a fruit or a cracker. Dinner is mostly a bowl of light soup or steamed fish or grilled chicken. I am foodie, therefore I allow myself the freedom once a week to binge; and binge I do. I love fish dishes and biryani too. Oh! They are so delicious and yumm!

Mind

To keep fit mentally, I am a regular at Vipassana meditation. It is tough and needs a lot of dedication. Spiritually I am a Vipassi. I do Vipassani. Vipassana meditation is very tough and calls for a great deal of commitment. Though I am not regular in practicing it; I do believe it helps me a lot. I have done 2 courses in it. Vipassana is an extensive meditation tecnique. It has been a life changing experience for me. It has helped me to be at peace with myself. Things do not bother me so much and I am much more patient than before and I love my life.

Spirit

My philosophy in life is – take life as it comes; enjoy every experience. I am calm at heart. My hobbies include going out with my friends, cooking… yes I can; and also watching movies. I relax by sleeping well.

A quiet room, with dark curtains does it for me. I also go for regular massages, which I find very relaxing and rejuvenating. I am a hydrophobic (afraid of water). However I am working towards it and really happy about the progress I’ve made.

Family life is very important for a persons’ all round health. It is also a great support system. My very own family life is just about starting. I have just moving my stuff from my house to my hubbys house. I am a romantic at heart, and I am thrilled to have found my Prince Charming. He does not object to my profession as his mother was a model too. He is a great guy.

My parents stay in Panvel. I am grateful that they have raised us with great values. I owe them everything; in fact this life is not enough to thank them. My sister me and my brother, all of us are successful today, established in our careers. There is tremendous respect and love between all our family members.

In any profession, especially one like modelling and acting, where one deals with several emotions and tremendous competition, the support of your family is of paramount importance. It is the binding factor, the nurturing factor and the healing factor as well. It is a great support system. The glamour world is very demanding with several ups and downs and it is important to keep you balance. Here is where the family is of great importance.”
