Fitness

“Fitness has to start in the mind for the body to follow. Results do not come instantly they come much later. I try to exercise at least five days a week. It consists of cardio and weights on each day I have a personal trainer who also guides me on my diet. I have lost around twenty kilos over the last few years but I still have a long way to go to look the way I aspire to look.

I have realised that a good look in front of the mirror gives me much more happiness than a bowl of sweets would. That makes me do a little extra here and there, like for instance, I always take the stairs instead of the escalator at the airports.

Diet

I eat everything but in moderation. It’s practical and easier to follow. Right now I eat small quantities every two hours and I am thoroughly enjoying this diet. I am a teetotaller and luckily, I don’t have a sweet tooth either.

Mind

Psychological wellness depends on the way one thinks and if one is constantly in tune with his mind, sanity and composure can be maintained in every situation no matter how demanding or stressful the situation is. I relax by just lying down quietly and letting my mind wander. I firmly believe in the fantastic powers of the human mind and swear by Buddha's famous saying ‘Mind is everything; You become what you think you can become’. I cope with stress by not escaping away from it. I believe that every negative situation can be handled if approached prudently.

Spirituality

A balanced thought process with a logical mind of your own is spirituality to me. It is something that gives you the confidence and comfort within yourself. I do not believe in rituals, I don't believe in praying in public or visiting mandirs etc. My association with my God is personal and I have felt He is within me. I never felt the need of a Guru to introduce me to the supreme power.

I don’t pray daily. In this stressful world when we often fall short of time and our own expectations, forcing prayers into it would be so mechanical and greedy. I prefer to spontaneously utter a silent prayer to the Almighty during the course of my daily tests. I work hard and help people when I can with the conviction that I might be doing enough to win His heart. I was an atheist during my teenage years but have grown up to believe and rely on the existence of a supreme being.

I don't believe in forcing meditation when the mind is crowded with responsibilities and thoughts. I jump on to my job in hand and wait for that serene and quiet moment when I gain deep concentration that is meditation for me when my job or my song stands as OM for me.

The book that has recently inspired me is by global entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson's ‘Screw It Lets Do it’. My motto is life is ‘one life one chance just do it and that nothing is impossible!”
