Banana Paste

Mash a ripe banana into a fine paste. Spread it over the burn.

Potato

Simply peel, shred or mince an uncooked potato and place the pieces on the burn.

Rice Powder

Rice flour sprinkled generously, forming a thick coat over the burn, has a very cooling and soothing effect.

Wheat Flour

Dust this popular ‘roti ka atta’ liberally over the affected surface. It makes a good first aid remedy for simple burns.

Poultice Power

If you can make a poultice of sesame seeds or curry patta or even the marigold flowers on your dinning table, then you have an excellent first aid for burns.

Milk

Some swear by the ameliorative properties of milk for treating simple burns.  Soak a cloth in milk and apply the same to the burn.

Aloe vera

Take a leaf of aloe vera, slit it open and dribble the juice on the burn. Aloe Vera juice heals the skin and prevents scarring.
