Good mood helps keep heart disease at bay

Enjoying yourself can keep heart disease at bay, researchers have found

A 10-year study of 2,000 people recorded feelings such as pleasure, anxiety and hostility, the European Heart Journal reported.

The happiest were 110% less likely to develop cardiovascular disease than those at the bottom of the sliding scale. Research chief Dr Karina Davidson, of Columbia University in the US, said: "Doing things that improve your mood may be good for your physical health."
