Dr Aashish Contractor, preventive cardiology and rehabilitation
Dr Contractor is the head of dept of preventive cardiology and rehabilitation at the Asian Heart Institute, Mumbai. He is also the certification director of the American College of Sports Medicine in India. Currently, he is conducting a study to measure the levels of physical activity in school children and their correlation with cardiovascular risk factors. Dr Contractor has been published in national and international textbooks as well as journals. On the academic front he is a visiting lecturer at the SNDT University and serves on the board of studies of the SVT College (SNDT University) as well as a visiting professor at Chester University, UK. He has coordinated the medical support for the Mumbai Marathon from its inception to present (2004-2008) as well as the inaugural ATP tennis tournament in Mumbai.

Dr Ashwini Bhalerao-Gandhi, gynaecologist
Dr Bhalerao-Gandhi is the consultant gynaecologist at PD Hinduja National Hospital, Mumbai and ex-Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at TN Medical College and BYL Nair Hospital. At present, she is honorary treasurer of the Mumbai Obstetrics and Gynaecologists Society. She has been elected as the chairperson of the Adolescent Health Committee of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecologists Societies of India for a period of five years. The areas of her specialisation and interest are adolescent reproductive health, menopausal problems, vulvar disorders, colposcopy, contraception, and menstrual problems. She has the honour of being the first gynaecologist in India to become the national facilitator for adolescent friendly health services and has organised the first, WHO supported Orientation Programme on Youth Friendly Health Services for selected gynaecologists all over India last February. She is the author of books entitled Stree Sharir Vidnyan, Chahul Matrutwachi and The Science of the Female Body which are written for educating the general population regarding various aspects of gynaecology. She has conducted more than 150 health programmes for various TV and radio channels.

Dr Abhay Agrawal, laparoscopic obesity surgeon
An early enthusiast and one of the few surgeons who actively perform a sizable number of weight loss surgical procedures in the country, Dr Abhay Agrawal runs the department of bariatric surgery a center of excellence with a 100 per cent success rate at the Asian Heart Institute, Mumbai. His team, consisting of a dietician, endocrinologist, counsellor and anaesthetist are well experienced in handling the difficulties faced in treating obese patients. He is also a faculty at the Ethicon Institute of Surgical Education, Mahim to train young budding laparoscopic surgeons. He has attended several workshops on the subject in India and abroad and is extensively invited nationally and internationally for delivering talks and demonstrations in laparoscopic bariatric surgery. Dr Avinash N Katara, minimal access, obesity and general surgeon
Dr Katara is a full-time consultant in the department of minimal access surgery (MAS) at PD Hinduja National Hospital and Medical Research Centre. He has trained extensively in India, Singapore and Australia, and has over ten years experience in MAS. He has done several fellowships in India and overseas in minimal access and hernia surgery. He performs a variety of advanced laparoscopic, thoracoscopic and endovascular procedures. He has trained in bariatric surgery for morbid obesity in Singapore, Australia and USA. He is a keen academic and has several publications, presentations and lectures to his credit, both at national and international levels. His areas of interest include bariatric surgery and weight control, hernia surgery, gall bladder surgery (laparoscopic cholecystectomy), thoracoscopic sympathectomy for sweaty palms (hyperhidrosis), minimally invasive procedures for piles (hemorrhoids) and a variety of other minimally invasive procedures. Dr Aniruddha Malpani, infertility specialist
Dr Malpani is a leading consultant infertility specialist and practices with his wife, Dr Anjali Malpani, in Mumbai. Dr Ashit Sheth, psychiatrist
Dr Sheth is an honorary psychiatrist at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai. He has also held the post of honorary professor of psychiatry at KEM Hospital and GS Medical College.
